He completed his MD in Internal Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2005 . This was followed by a DM in Cardiology from PGIMER Chandigarh, completed around 2007–2008 .

During his student and resident years, he demonstrated outstanding academic merit. One notable recognition was the “Best House Physician” award at AIIMS, presented to him by former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam .
